1645 Glenbow Museum

1645 Glenbow Museum

CUPE 1645 represent the staff of Calgary's Glenbow Museum.  Glenbow staff are proud of the important services we provide. We want to ensure that all Alberta museums get the funding assistance needed so that Albertans can keep exploring and enjoying our vibrant heritage.

Since 2000, museum management has implemented cuts to staff positions each year in order to balance the budget. Diminished government support has been a contributing factor.

The Alberta government has charged Glenbow with preserving and interpreting the collections on behalf of its citizens, yet the province contributes $2.563 million of the $5.4 million Glenbow needs annually for these services. Without additional funding, there is the risk of further cuts which will drastically restrict the services Glenbow staff provide for you.
